Hi, I’m Matt, author of Intervention, a political and espionage thriller featuring former CIA operative Alex Ward.

The idea began in my day job as a brand strategy consultant. Working with Zoos Victoria introduced me to the pressures facing threatened species—and prompted a disturbing question: what might happen if someone with immense wealth decided that saving the planet justified an unforgivable act?

During Melbourne’s lockdowns, that question became a novel.

I love thrillers that combine the escape of a good story with uncomfortable connections to the world around us. In Intervention, those connections run through political manipulation, environmental pressure and the danger of unchecked conviction.

I live on Australia’s Mornington Peninsula with my wife and four children. Away from writing, I work with businesses on their brands and positioning.
